Having nearly doubled the scholarship amounts in the new academic year, TEV received about 40,000 scholarship applications last year. Since the beginning of this September, it has received over 107,000 applications, predominantly from undergraduate students. TEV emphasizes that this application increase indicates a promising rise in our youth’s desire to pursue education. As part of the 100th-year celebrations of the republic, TEV is aiming to do more for the republic’s future and asks, ‘Do you want to study? Would you like to help others education?’ and calls for support to our youth and our future with the slogan, May They Study, May They Be the Future of the Republic.

Project

The Scholarship Fund for the “Independent and Confident Girls of the Future”

Project Summary

According to the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development), the drop-out rate for schoolgirls in Turkey is 24.5%, while for schoolboys it is 12.62%. One of the underlying reasons for this disparity is the lack of sufficient financial support going towards female education. This project aims to ensure that Turkish girls in high school, at undergraduate, and graduate levels have equal opportunities in education, by providing them with the financial support they need.

Scholarship Amount

TRY 19.000 in 2022-2023 for 9 months

Scope of Scholarship

Female students are provided a monthly stipend to meet their basic needs during their education.

Project Notes

Students who receive funds from this project will also have the chance to benefit from online training and mentoring.

Project

Gratitude Fund for COVID-19 Heroes

Project Summary

The COVID-19 pandemic has created an unpredictable future for people around the world. As the Turkish Education Foundation (TEV), we are deeply worried about the future of students in Turkey, particularly those whose parents have to fight against the pandemic on the front line.

Thus, we have launched the Gratitude Fund for COVID-19 Heroes to support the children of healthcare workers.

This project aims to help these students both financially and academically. Students who receive a scholarship from this project have the opportunity to benefit from online mentoring programs and training as well.

TEV intends to create a life-long positive impact on the lives of these students, supporting them by all possible means. The scholarships and online programs help these students to focus on their academic careers and provide them with a hopeful future.
