Hi everyone,
I’m Deniz, a TEV UK-Imperial College London scholar. Currently, I am working in my research group’s lab on my Master’s project: developing a facemask for continuous liquid monitoring.
It is already March, and I am halfway through my Master’s; I can’t believe how time flies. A year ago today, I was preparing my scholarship application and dreaming of a future at Imperial. London is indeed as beautiful as I imagined, and hopefully, it will begin to warm up this month.
Being one of our 120 Changemakers is how you can make the dream of another student in Turkiye possible. By making a regular monthly contribution (ranging from £10 to £250), you support their journey through education, whether covering living expenses or tuition.

March is a month full of important days for reflection. We are celebrating all our readers’ Mother’s Day today in the UK, International Women’s Day, and Ramadan Holiday. Here are some of our reflections:
Happy Mother’s Day !!!
Today is Mother’s Day in the UK. I asked my mother to share a message for the TEV UK community.
“I am so happy that my daughter is supported by an organisation that helps turn her dreams into reality. She has always dreamed of making the world a better, healthier place through her work in health technology. Now, she finally has the opportunity to receive the world-class education she needs to do exactly that. Sending all my love from Hatay.”

International Women’s Day
Last week, we celebrated International Women’s Day by spotlighting the Changemaker Women of TEV UK.
TEV UK is built by a number of strong and inspirational women and continues to play an active role in advancing women’s education.
At TEV UK, gender balance is not just a statistic mentioned in a newsletter. At every event we host, women are leading conversations on education, science, and finance.
Representation truly matters. When I was 16, I read about a female engineer working in neuroscience in the newspaper, and her story inspired me to pursue engineering myself. To me, this scholarship represents the possibility that one day, young girls may look up to women like us and feel empowered to follow their own career paths.
On this occasion, we would like to recognise and celebrate all the women who support education around the world, and reaffirm our commitment to advancing women’s education.
